Yes and No. The book is excellent at giving an overview of many concepts that are pertinent to understanding the plethora of all that comprise the Java technology and how it all generally works together.
I rate this book a five star because it gives a very clear and step by step presentation of how the java VM actually works. It has clear examples and analysis of every topic it covers.
